Contact lenses are a mode of visual correction. Contact lenses can make your life easier because they are safe and convenient. This is true especially for people with active lifestyles and those who are into sports.
Semi-soft Contact Lenses
These lenses are slightly rigid in nature and slightly hard when you feel. These are now days used only in special conditions of the eye called keratoconus.
Soft Contact Lenses
Soft contact lenses are comfortable in handling and wearing. These are made of polymer and water. The water present in the soft contact lens allows oxygen to flow through it, here by letting the eyes breathe well.
Conventional Lenses
A single pair of lenses can be used for one year. However, it needs meticulous maintenance to keep it clean.
Disposable Lenses
These lenses contain more amount of water. Hence your eyes feel extremely comfortable and healthy. These lenses are to be replaced at regular intervals with a fresh pair.

Types of Contact Lenses

Spherical Soft Contact Lens:

These lenses correct the refractive error in which the front surface of eye, the cornea is evenly shaped.

Toric Contact Lens:

These lenses correct the Astigmatic Refractive Errors in which the front surface of eye, the cornea is unevenly shaped.

Bifocal and Multifocal Contact Lenses:

These lenses are latest and are used to correct presbyopia. These lenses are useful for distance and near vision.

Coloured Contact Lenses:

It offers the advantage of enhancing or changing the eye colour. It comes in a variety of colours like blue, green, grey, violet, honey and many. These are available with and without power.
